Why Coconut Landing

Coconut Landing is a residential community inside the Village of Estero, Florida. Start here for what is listed now, what recently sold and how the neighborhood sits within the village.

Estero's history runs back further than most of Southwest Florida's suburbs. The Koreshan Unity settled on the Estero River in 1894 and their grounds are now a state historic site, while the Broadway Avenue core still reads as the original town. The village itself only incorporated in 2014, which is why so much of what surrounds that old center is new.

The Koreshan Settlement

The Koreshan Unity founded a settlement on the Estero River in 1894, and its buildings and gardens are preserved today as a state historic site.

The Old Core

Broadway Avenue still carries the scale of the original town, which is a different Estero from the corridors built east of I-75.

A New Village

Estero only incorporated in 2014, so a community with more than a century of history has had a village government for barely a decade.
