Goldcrest sits inside Pelican Landing, the roughly 2,365-acre gated community that WCI Communities began developing in 1989 west of US 41 on Estero Bay. Its roughly 42 estate homes were built in the late 1990s, among the larger single-family residences in mainland Pelican Landing.

Homes here generally run from about 2,800 to 4,000 square feet, most with private pools, three-car garages, and lake or preserve views. Goldcrest offers estate-scale living inside a gated, amenity-rich community, a step up in size from the mid-range single-family neighborhoods.

Pelican Landing residents share a 34-acre private beach park on Big Hickory Island, reached by a 12-minute community shuttle boat across Estero Bay, plus a 12-court Har-Tru tennis center, a sailing center, kayaking and canoeing on Spring Creek, and a 14,900-square-foot community center with a fitness studio and resort-style pool. The Nest golf club, with two Tom Fazio championship courses, is a separate, optional membership.
