About This Neighborhood
Pelican Sound Golf & River Club is a gated community of 1,299 residences in Estero, developed by WCI Communities beginning in 1998 and owned and governed by its own members since January 2003. Twelve distinct neighborhoods sit inside the gates, on a property that runs from the Estero River on its northern edge west toward Estero Bay.
Golf membership is bundled with every home rather than offered as an option. Members share 27 holes of championship golf, an 18,000 square foot main clubhouse, a separate 6,000 square foot River Clubhouse, six pools, eight Hydro-Grid tennis courts, fourteen pickleball courts and five bocce courts. A boat launch on the Estero River, complimentary kayaks and paddleboards and a boat shuttle to the beach at Lovers Key State Park give the community its river and Gulf access.

Pelican Sound carries 27 holes laid out as three nine hole courses, designed by Chip Powell and Mike Hill. Membership is bundled with every home, so golf comes with ownership rather than as a separate tier, and the club is owned and run by its members.
Around Pelican Sound
Pelican Sound sits west of US 41 just south of Corkscrew Road in Estero, with the Estero River running along its northern boundary. Coconut Point is minutes away, and the community's own boat shuttle runs down the river to the beach at Lovers Key State Park.
At the Club
Two clubhouses anchor community life. The main clubhouse holds The Vista dining room and the Pelican Pub, while the River Clubhouse sits by the water with the Pavilion and the Terrace. A dedicated fitness center plus tennis, pickleball and bocce round out the athletic side.
